What do I do when dating becomes dangerous?

Her Track Girl Tips

Dear Reader,

There are many things that can be considered dangerous while dating such as being emotionally destroyed, cheated on,and being abused. If you happen to be dating people from an online match-making service, please be very careful while doing so. If you decide to meet someone in person, make sure that you are in a very public place. Please don’t ever decide to go somewhere with said person alone until you know for sure that you can trust him or her.

On the other hand, if the person you are dating becomes emotionally destructive or abusive, do NOT find reasons to stay in the relationship. Leave immediately. I have been through two abusive relationships, one in which was emotional and the other physical. At first, I kept trying to figure out reasons on why I should stay, and the situation kept getting worse. By staying in a relationship that is dangerous, you are giving that person the satisfaction that they desire. No matter who you are or what you may or may not have done in life, you deserve so much more than that. Go to your friends and family for help. My family has helped me so much when I was “stuck” in my abusive/dangerous relationships. Please, do not be scared to go to your family for help. They are there for you and strive to make sure that you are always safe.

Also, if you are planning on going out with someone you just met, check into some apps that allow friends or family members to know if you are ok or not while you’re out. bSafe is a free iPhone & Android app that allows your friends and/or family to follow you via GPS. If you find yourself in a dangerous situation, it will send those selected people your exact GPS coordinates, and will also record audio and video.
