Lexi Herrick

Hey there–

My name is Lexi Herrick and I am the founder of Her Track.

Let me start by saying welcome, to our little slice of the internet. I am so thrilled to have you here. This is the home to so much of my past, present and future–and to the voices and stories of now over a hundred different contributors from all over the world.

When I first started blogging, I was a nineteen-year-old college kid with a little laptop and a lot to say. I typed away in my dorm room, surrounded by weirdly themed rock-music decorations and the insurmountable threat of pending adulthood. There was so much I still didn’t understand about life, and the challenges I’d face as I walked the path of self-discovery.

Writing was and still is the way I make sense of the world.

It was both cathartic and empowering to make those emotions and experiences tangible. That’s all I really wanted. So when I first started “going viral,” I didn’t know what to do. The numbers kept climbing, and I kept hitting refresh on the computer over and over, squealing to my poor roommate to make another bag of microwavable popcorn. This is when I met all of you, and when my life changed forever.

I couldn’t have possibly imagined the places writing would take me, the people I’d meet and the incredible messages I’d receive daily in my inbox from strangers who also had a story to share. So when the time came in 2016 to re-launch as a contributor site, I was beyond humbled and blessed to be able to share those stories.

Now, a brilliant team of courageous and exquisite women are the lifeblood of this site. They teach me every single day, and they champion our mission with an amazing amount of grace and conviction. We seek to cultivate, appreciate and elevate voices from all walks of life. From personal essays on self-exploration, to travel tips and professional advice, this is a place to share and grow as young writers.

Just like I once did.

Her Track is my story and it’s your story. It’s a story that is ever-changing. Every time we decide on a new track and a different path, we grow. Thank you for teaching me that, as I too have followed many different paths with you all since I started this site.

Be sure to connect with us on social media, or apply if you’re interested in getting involved with Her Track. Because as I said it’s no longer just my track, it’s all of yours too.

Love and gratitude,

Lexi Herrick
