10 Habits For Leading the Life You've Always Wanted

Everyone strives for success and happiness. Everyone wants to live a life worth living. Everyone has the capability to be the best they can be every single day. Most people just don’t know where to start. There are a loads of habits that you can start doing today to lay the foundation for success to come because who doesn’t want a successful life?

1. Don’t compare yourself to others.

Be the best person you can be. Strive to be a better person for yourself, and not for other people. Be comfortable in your own company. Be secure with who you are. This life is about you. This is about you becoming successful no matter what anyone else is doing.

2. Find something you love to do.

Make sure you are able to wake up every single day and say “I love what I do.” No matter how much it pays or how you feel you will be portrayed by others, it is never worth compromising your happiness.

3. Never give up on your dreams.

It can be easy to get stuck in a rut. It is easy to feel like you will never succeed when experiencing trials and tribulations. Everyone has a dream. It is easy to feel like that dream will never be possible. If you don’t put yourself out there and try, then you will never know what may come of it. The key is to never give up. No matter how scared, nervous or vulnerable you may feel, step out of your comfort zone. You will never succeed unless you embrace vulnerability and try. If you don’t succeed the first time, try again.

4. Choose to be happy.

Make a conscious effort every single day when your head hits the pillow at night and your feet hit the floor in the morning to be happy. Find the good things in life and cling to them. You are in charge of your own emotions. You are responsible for the outcome of your day.

5. Always be positive and never complain.

Be a glass-half-full type of person. Always look for the good in everyone and everything. Don’t complain about what you don’t have. Be grateful for what you do have instead.

6. Do not being controlled or limited by fear.

Putting yourself out there can be one of the most intense feelings a human is capable of feeling. You will never reach success unless you go out on a limb. Fear and success do not mix well.  Do not be afraid to be rejected. Do not be afraid to be judged. Do not let fear hinder your talents. Do not let fear consume you to the point where you aren’t able to reach the level of success you have rooted inside of you. Some of the most successful things and people came from letting go of fear. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.

7. Push yourself.

If you aren’t able to push yourself, you will never be able to uncover what you are truly capable of. No one successful got where they are today without pushing themselves. Always strive to go a little higher, a little faster and a little harder. It’s all about baby steps. Push yourself in whatever you do, a little at a time and you will see the pay off in the end.

8. Be resilient.

Accept change. When most people throw in the towel, you are just warming up. Be the person that goes with the flow. Change is good. Change means progress and that means success is coming.

9. Acquire good communication and relationship skills.

Communication is arguably one of the most important traits you need to have in order to become successful.  Learn to express your feelings and emotions rationally. Learn to understand people and their differences. Most importantly, learn to build lasting and healthy relationships.

10. Make your life count.

We are never promised tomorrow. Here comes the cliché, live today like it’s your last. Don’t ever waste a day, an hour, a minute or even a second on anything that is not worth your time. You are in charge of your own destiny. You are the author of your own story so make it a bestseller.
