Katie is a small town Canadian girl living on Cape Breton Island. She is an undergraduate student studying Business and Community Studies and enjoys spending her time contributing to her university community in any way possible. Katie has found solace in music for as long as she can remember and loves listening to every genre under the sun. She is passionate about women’s empowerment, self-love and living each day to the fullest and she loves sharing her own experiences in hopes of helping and inspiring others.
Brielle is a college senior finishing up her journalism major and double minor in creative writing and film. She’s a believer in the power of storytelling and narrates the world around her with a consciousness of cultural and social importance. She is a taco enthusiast who's often spotted sporting black boots, chipped red nail polish, and a good sense of humor. She walks through life wholeheartedly—that’s why her shoes are so worn down. When she’s not writing she’s probably binging movies new and old, listening to podcasts, eating cheetos while cooking, or searching for her next foodie moment.
Valerie is a senior Public Policy major with minors in Political Science, Sociology, and Dance at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Living in Southern Maryland for most of her life, she loves to drink coffee, dance at her college's dance studio, read news articles, and be active in her community. She hopes to work in DC someday and make a huge impact on her community. Not only she writes for Her Track, she also writes for Metiza Magazine and briefly wrote for Her Culture. Maurie Mickey is a graduate of Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. She's a loud-laugher, big hugger, dessert-obsessor, book hoarder, Jesus lover 26-year-old. A woman who loves to journal, believes ice cream is the cure to any heartbreak, a faithful fan to One Tree Hill, an admirer of flowers and handwritten notes. Her special talents include, reciting every line in Legally Blonde, impersonations, touching her tongue to her nose and dancing in public.
Olivia is a college student studying family studies and special education at Ball State. Besides working with kids, Olivia’s passion is writing, especially poetry. Olivia believes that frozen yogurt should be eaten at every meal and diet dr pepper should replace water as the drink of choice. She loves succulents, especially cacti, and worshipping at her church. When Olivia isn’t busy at school, you can find her reading, watching cheesy rom-coms on Netflix, and adding to her cardigan collection in her closet of which there’s more than 30.
