Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the Steel City. The city of bridges (that are horrifying to navigate during rush hour).
This iconic city has probably shown up on your radar in some way or another throughout the years whether you know the sports teams or it just happens to be the home of your favorite ketchup. It was also recently in the headlines due to the tragic Tree of Life Synagogue shootings, donate here.
Cities I have called home throughout my life include Boston, Philadelphia, and Dalian, China and I have to say that Pittsburgh is hands down my favorite.
Where to stay:
I am a HUGE proponent of air BNB I’ve never had a bad experience and you get to meet all kinds of cool people. As far as hotels I would say if you’re feeling fancy you definitely want to go to the Omni or Renaissance. They are GORGEOUS.
If you’re looking for something new and hip I highly recommend Tryp in Pittsburgh’s hip Lawrenceville neighborhood. It was JUST opened in July and is a redone schoolhouse. They feature local artists in each room, have a luxe rooftop bar and it has a very fresh vibe.
