Ah, fall.
It’s right around the corner.
At least that’s what we’re telling ourselves. If one could ~manifest~ autumn by lighting pumpkin candles, buying used books and baking bread, we would.
Fall is also an amazing time to experiment with your personal style. It’s the season of layers, of collecting unique staples and pairing them any way you feel drawn to. It also has a well-earned reputation of being the coziest and more comfortable season of all, with big sweaters, worn-in flannels and fuzzy socks being lovable staples.
We’ve compiled a list of some of the most trending fall looks on Pinterest, complete with many opportunities to mix and match, and shop the look on Amazon.
Happy ~almost~ fall, to all.
1. A long or mid-length skirt paired with a sweater.
This look is really perfect for any occassion– lunch dates, days with friends, errands out on the town. Leather accessories are a great compliment to the different fabrics, like oversized bags or booties.
2. Cheetah and patterned skirts in particular, with comfy sneakers.
We LOVE that the sneakers and skirt combination is coming back for the fall, particularly for the sake of long fall walks with warm toes. Different takes on the cheetah pattern are also trending and add an extra dash of fun.
3. Cozy flannels.
Oversized and form fitted flannels are still a staple for fall trends. Paired with high-waited jeans, leggings or even biker shorts depending upon the weather.
4. Layering dresses or overalls over a long sleeve turtle neck.
Good news!
It may not be time to pack away all those cute summer dresses and ovealls just yet. Grab a classic long sleeve black shirt, turtle-neck or crew cut, and wear it underneath your favorite dress.
5. “Shackets”– Skirt + Jacket Hybrids.
Who couldn’t love the “shacket” trends?
Silly terms aside, the trend of oversized, thick shirts as a jacket hybrid are here to stay this season. We recommend pairing this with a lighter, solid colored shirt underneath, perfect for removing the jacket if needed.
6. Plaid mini skirts with tights and a sweater.
Mini skirts can also be left out for the fall, in particular the thicker plaid skirts. These are great to pair with tights or leggings, and any comfortable short boots that you like.
7. The classic black long-sleeve shirt and light jeans combo.
This one can be as dressy or as casual as you’d like it to be. Accessories are key with this classic look, fun heels, big sunglasses and a cute bag are all great options.
8. Long sweaters and light trench coats.
This is such an easy and adorable layered look, with jeans, sneakers and a long statement layer.
9. Oversized, chunky sweaters and jeans.
Another classic look that can be evolved with different colors and styles– the jeans and oversized sweater look.
10. Satin lace cami under a cozy sweater with jeans.
Satin and silk cami tank tops were big all summer, and they are still making their way into fall style. All you need is a pair of jeans and a long sweater to complete this look.
11. Combat boots, sweaters and black jeans.
For a more ~edgy~ take on fall fashion, the combat boots are always a good pick. Pair them with black jeans and a sweater and you’re set. Accessories are also a great compliment, and speaking of which…
12. The fanny pack look.
It appears that the fanny pack is here to stay, worn over everything from workout clothes to big sweaters. Long live the 80’s!
13. Two-piece athleisure sets.
Great for exercise or just for a comfortable look, two-piece sets with sweaters and jackets will be a strong theme of the fall.
14. Corduroy oversized shirts.
Similar to the shacket trend, baggy shirts with a thicker material are on the rise for fall, and corduroy is a definite front runner for comeback of the decade.
15. Plaid, high-waisted pants.
This trend is definitely not for everyone but it’s really gaining popularity for good reason. This fun and retro look has a ton of versitility and go with anything from a band t shirt to a more formal sweater.
16. Oversized blazer and band tee.
Formal meets rock n’ roll with this fun and trendy take on the oversized blazer and jeans look.
17. Above all, layers, layers, layers.
Layers are still the move this fall, with jackets, coats, linen shirts, flannels and more being repeat inclusions in outfit trends. A few comfy pieces will go a long way, and be fun to experiment with along the way.
